Over the past couple of months I have experienced amazing introductions and meetings with so many athletes. It's been wonderful to see how receptive and supportive they are of our Racing Hearts mission. All I've had to say is 'Do you know the stats on Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)? According to the American Red Cross about 300,000 Americans die of sudden cardiac arrest each year; that's almost 800 Americans per day - one death nearly every two minutes. And every three days, a young competitive athlete suffers a SCA. This number is MORE people than breast cancer, lung and color cancer, and HIV combined.'
A totally fit 40+ year old male signing up for his 10th triathlon said "fantastic idea" while another 60+ year old woman said "They (automatic external defibrillators) need to be everywhere, sign me up!".  I couldn't agree more!
